Taiwan-based Gigastorage has completed expansion of production capacity for high-efficiency solar-grade silicon wafers and expects monthly shipments to increase to more than 10 million units later in the second half of 2013, according to the company.
Gigastorage saw operation turn from net operating loss of NT$14.9 million (US$505,000) in the first quarter of 2013 to net operating profit of NT$43.8 million in the second, but still suffered net loss of NT$20.3 million due to losses from non-operating investment.
Giga Solar Materials, Gigastorage's subsidiary that makes photovoltaic (PV) conductive paste, recorded net EPS of NT$2.10 for the second quarter and NT$6.35 for first-half 2013.
