SEATTLE - Room & Board will open a 27,000-square-foot showroom here today, according to Portland Business Journal report.
The store at University Village is the Minneapolis-based Top 100 company's 16th showroom and first in the Seattle area.
President Bruce Champeau told the paper that the store is opening after a five-year search for the right site. He said the University Village location will enable the retailer to pull from both downtown Seattle and the Eastside.
The midpriced to lower upper-end, classic contemporary Room & Board is No. 27 on Furniture/Today's Top 100 with estimated 2011 sales of $263 million.
