LED packaging house, Everlight, has indicated that Japan has increased the speed of certification for LED lighting products since the earthquake disaster in March. Hence, Everlight anticipates the debut of lighting products in Japan in the beginning of 2012. Japan initiated the second stage of its Eco-Point subsidy program for energy-saving home electronics in July and is anticipated to include LED lighting. Everlight emphasized the importance of the Japan market for LED products. From 2012-2014, the world will no longer use traditional incandescent light bulbs and LED light bulbs will become the mainstream in the market, added Everlight. Current monthly capacity of LED packaging is 2.4 billion units, according to Everlight. Everlight currently has three operating plants and will add more sales offices for LED lighting products in Europe, the US, China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia in the future.
