A new coffee 'bean bag' has been introduced to the Australian market.
Produced by Jed's Coffee Company, the coffee bean bag works and looks like a tea bag.
The bag is designed to be placed in a mug before hot water is added. After this, the bag has to be squeezed using a spoon in order to let the contents out. Jed's then recommends that the bag is left in for 3-4 minutes so the coffee can brew.
Jed's coffee is marketing the bean bag as a way of having premium coffee without having to use a plunger.?Coffee grounds are used instead of freeze dried granules.
The bags have five different strength levels ranging from smooth to extra strong. Similar 'coffee bags' have already been available in Australian supermarkets for some time now through competing brand, Robert Timms.
Jed's Coffee Company is a New Zealand company which commenced in 2010. The coffee producer has not sold its products in Australia before but has been manufacturing instant coffee and espresso beans for the New Zealand market.
The coffee bean bags are available now through Woolworths supermarkets. The recommended retail price is $6.99 for a packet of ten bags.
