The very best in UK manufacturing will take pride of place in Westminster at the Department for Business Innovation and Skills(BIS)One Victoria office in London,in a specially commissioned installation.
BIS is using its impressive entrance to exhibit the best that British business has to offer;for the next two weeks it will be focussing on fashion and textiles.Leading industry body UK Fashion&Textile Association(UKFT),brought together products and imagery to create the installation which includes textiles,men's tailoring,footwear and manufacturing maps.
UKFT members including Johnstons of Elgin and Peregrine helped add to the installation along with contributions from the British Footwear Association(BFA),Designer-Manufacturer Innovation Support Centre(DISC)and the British Fashion Council(BFC).
With British manufactured fashion more in demand than ever,this is a fantastic opportunity to showcase all that is great about the UK's fashion and textile industry.
Beautiful cashmere swags will be draped in the lobby alongside some of the best example of Savile Row manufacture.Accessories made entirely out of"Made In The UK"labels and shoes at different stages of production are also on show to highlight the skill involved in quality manufacturing as well as the growing sense of pride for fashion made in the UK.
UKFT chief executive John Miln said:"This is a fantastic way for us to proudly show off what our industry can do right in the heart of London where tourists and government will be passing every day.
