OnePoint Patient Care, a national hospice pharmacy services provider, has started providing its local medication dispensing and delivery services to five new hospice partners in the US.
Besides, OnePoint has been selected as the Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) by these hospices to manage their custom formularies.
OnePoint offers local pharmacy dispensing and delivery services to over 20,000 hospice patients across the country.
The five hospices that opted for OnePoint's local medication dispensing and delivery services include Home Bound Hospice, Serenity Hospice, Illinois Valley Hospice, and Hospice of the Rock River Valley in Illinois; and New Hope Hospice in Indiana.
OnePoint also provides fully customized cost containment measures and hospice-specific formulary management programs with the help of PBM services.
OnePoint's local medication dispensing and delivery services enable the hospice patients to receive their medications on the same day or next day.
This allows hospices to be more responsive to the requirements of individual patients.
Hospice of the Rock River Valley executive director Carolyn Spencer said, "Previously, it took two to three days for our patients to receive their medications, but with OnePoint providing them the next day, we have greatly enhanced our ability to provide patients with life-limiting illnesses the comfort and compassionate care that they need."
