PPG Industries has extended its strategic partnership with Summa, an IT consultancy based in Pittsburgh and operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic States. Summa has partnered with PPG since 2010 to implement PPG’s innovative vision and provide solutions to enhance the company’s role as a worldwide leader in its industries.
“Summa has been a great partner in some of our most innovative IT initiatives at PPG,” said Werner Baer, PPG vice president of information technology. “We have engaged Summa to be more than a resource for skilled IT talent. They have truly partnered with PPG to help take our ideas from inception to realization through their active engagement in the creative process of developing solutions for our businesses.”
Summa’s relationship with PPG has helped enhance the company’s services and engage its growing audience, Baer said. Summa has designed and implemented applications for PPG such as the online and mobile versions of the Digital Color Platform, PPG Paint It, the Digital Glass Visualizer, which was named “Most Innovative Software” in the 2013 Glass Magazine Awards, and the Paint Your Own Room application, which was nominated for a Webby Award earlier this year. Summa also is helping PPG develop its mobile strategy and coaching PPG management in agile practices.

Summa is participating in PPG’s Technical Innovation Expo, an event showcasing the company’s IT vendors and services to its staff, on Sept. 24. Summa’s involvement is an extension of its new partnership with PPG and will enable the provider to highlight solutions it offers businesses in every industry, Baer said.
