Blizzard has revealed its latest extension of the World of Warcraft video game series, with a new collectable card range.
Called Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, the digital/physical game will be based upon a range of cards that players collect to go to battle with each other. It was announced at the 2013 Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in the US.
The free to play digital strategy card game will allow players to choose to play as one of nine Warcraft heroes before battling opponents, by taking turns playing cards from their customisable decks.
Players will be able to advance through the game faster, however, by purchasing physical collectable cards in stores.
Blizzard said Hearthstone was going through internal testing but would be released before the end of 2013, with packs of five cards retailing in stores at around $1 or 60p each.
