French car maker PSA Peugeot-Citroen is recalling about 97,000 cars in Brazil, over problems with seals in the motor.

Due to the faulty seals, water can enter the motor, which could further lead to electrical problems and fires, reports Dow Jones Newswires.

According to company, the recall effects 58,200 of its C4 Pallas models produced between July 2008 and December 2011 and about 39,038 C4 Hatchback models that were manufactured between December 2006 and December 2011.

Brazil, claimed to be the world's fourth-largest auto market by sales, has witnessed many recalls, with nearly 2 million cars being recalled from the past two years over production issues.
