P&B Foods, a UK and European wholesale supplier of food products, is set to invest £5m to expand its food import and distribution business in Bradford.
The company has purchased a 230,000ft2 site at the Prologis business park with assistance from Bradford Council, where it will establish a new base to replace its existing 150,000ft2 premises in Bowling.
P&B Foods supplies Asian and oriental food products such as rice, spice, lentils, flour, chutneys and pickle products from across the world. The company is expected to create 50 new jobs over the next five years.
P&B managing director Mohinder Singh Bhatoa was quoted by the Business Desk as saying, "The move to Prologis Park Bradford is an important step forward for our business."
"This is a high-profile site in a perfect location. We will have immediate access to the M606, at the centre of the M62 trans Pennine corridor, which means that we are in an ideal position to offer the best possible service to our customers," Bhatoa added.
Bradford Council leader Councillor David Green said, "It is good to see a local company develop and prosper and it proves there is a growing confidence in this area and a willingness to make things happen."
