Production of 2013 Altima Sedan Is Started by Nissan

Japanese car maker Nissan has started production of the 2013 Altima sedan at its Canton Assembly Plant in Mississippi, US.

The new model is offered with a choice of two powertrains, including the new 4-cylinder, 182hp 2.5litre DOHC engine as well as a 3.5litre V6 engine which generates an output of 270 hp.

Both the engines are mated to Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT).

According to carmaker, the new Altima will deliver an enhanced fuel economy of 38 mpg highway.

The new sedan features include safety shield technologies comprising blind spot warning (BSW), lane departure warning (LDW) and moving object detection (MOD) systems.

The company said that the basic 2013 Altima will be available at a starting price of $21,500 and the top model will be on sale at a price of $30,000, by June 2012.
