Character Options' The Ugglys brand is teaming up with Gnasher to look for entrants into the Britain’s Funniest Dogs Awards, also known as The Ugglys.
Kids can to enter their dogs into one of three categories: All Dressed Up and Nowhere to Go, Smile for the Camera and Damned Uggly.
The August 16th issues of Dennis the Menace and Gnasher’s Epic! Magazine and The Beano will see Gnasher launch the awards to readers.
Kids can then send images in directly or via Swapit.co.uk, which will also host the awards.
The Awards will also be advertised through TV shouts on KIX.
Throughout September, a shortlist of the funniest pictures will be voted for through the Swapit and SuperAwesome digital network, with results announced in October.
“Last year’s Ugglys Awards were a huge success and we are delighted to re-visit this competition for 2014," said Mark Hunt, Character Options’ marketing manager.
"This year we have upped the ante by teaming up with Gnasher as our host and our new categories reflect the sort of images people post every day of their dogs on Instagram, YouTube and Twitter.
"We can’t wait to see the results. It’s all a bit of fun but The Ugglys Awards bring with them highly relevant brand awareness with kids and will complement perfectly the TV advertising we have for the launch of our new Ugglys breeds; a St Bernard, a Dalmatian and the classic Pug.”
The Beano editor-in-chief Mike Stirling added: “Gnasher is a perfect fit for this campaign. He’ll inspire dog owners to unleash the Gnashability within their own pets then share the laughs with everyone.
"What else would you expect from the UK’s most mischievous dog? Dennis has already promised to send in his fave Gnash-pic."
