a Four-Seat Version of The Maserati Granturismo MC Stradale Has Been Revealed

Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale Four-Seater Confirmed

A four-seat version of the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale has been revealed ahead of next week’s 2013 Geneva motor show.

The Italian sports car maker confirmed the introduction of the new high-performance four-seat coupe, which will be twice as accommodating as the regular GranTurismo MC Stradale that launched in 2010.

The MC Stradale was originally designed as a road-going version of Maserati’s GranTurismo racecars, with weight down 110kg compared with the GranTurismo Sport on which it’s based due in part to the removal of the rear seats.

The Geneva model sees the return of rear pews, although Maserati says the extra weight has no impact on the four-seater’s top speed, which like the two-seater is 303km/h.

The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale four-seater is identical to the two-seater under the bonnet, with a front-mounted 338kW/520Nm 4.7-litre V8 sending power to the rear wheels via a six-speed ‘MC Race Shift’ paddle-shift transmission.

Exterior highlights of the four-seat GranTurismo MC Stradale include a new carbonfibre bonnet with a central air intake, two rear extractors and new 20-inch forged alloy wheels.

Along with the extra seats, new materials fresh the cabin for an updated interior look and feel.

Maserati Australia spokesman Edward Rowe said the local division was looking at the four-seat variant but had not made a decision to offer it in our market at this stage.

Rowe admitted there had not been enormous demand from local customers for a more practical version of its flagship sports car, with most who opted for the MC Stradale doing so primarily for its enhanced track ability.
