Gardner-White Furniture, the Detroit-based, 100-year-old retail furniture chain, announced the opening of a new flagship store and warehouse. Located near Great Lakes Crossing at 4445 N. Atlantic Boulevard, in Auburn Hills, the 455,000 square-foot facility includes a 90,000 square foot retail store and warehouse outlet, a modernized distribution center, and new corporate offices.
"We are very excited to open this complex, bring more than 200 new jobs to the area, and expand our footprint in metro Detroit so that we can better serve our customers," said Steve Tracey, president of Gardner-White Furniture. "We have great confidence in the future of southeast Michigan and its support for Gardner-White. This is why we are making significant investments in the region by expanding to new communities."
To celebrate Gardner-White's expansion into Auburn Hills, the company will host a two-day Grand Opening House Party on Saturday, Oct. 20 and Sunday, Oct. 21 from 12 – 5 p.m. at the new store located at 4445 N. Atlantic Boulevard, in Auburn Hills. Coming from I-75, take Joslyn Road north and turn right on Brown Road; the store is located behind Home Depot and Sam's Club.
Highlights of the free, public event include hourly prize drawings for Gardner-White gift cards ranging from $100 - $1,000, tickets to University of Michigan and Michigan State home football games, and a chance to win a $10,000 Gardner-White shopping spree. No purchase is necessary to enter any prize drawing and all winners must be present at the time of the drawing with the exception of the $10,000 shopping spree.
AThe Stoney Creek High School Symphony Band and the Stoney Creek High School Wind Ensemble will perform on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 3 – 4 p.m., with the Avondale High School Yellow Jacket Marching Band performing on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 3 – 4 p.m. Both schools will receive a $1,000 donation from Gardner-White.
