Pivot Cycles Will Complete The Sale of Its 50 Percent Ownership in BH USA to BH Europe

Pivot Cycles will complete the sale of its 50 percent ownership in BH USA to BH Europe on April 1, enabling Pivot to go forward focusing solely on its mountain bike business.

BH USA and its national sales manager, Dan Barns, are moving west to join BH North America at its facility at Foothill Ranch, California. BH North America oversees BH Fitness, BH USA and BH’s ebike brand, Easy Motion. The company expects to be shipping bikes to dealers next week. Pivot is no longer handling any BH bikes or warrantee issues.

“We’ve got quite a few new Pivot designs in the pipeline and with our designers totally focusing on Pivot product, dealers can expect us to expand our offerings and speed up development,” said Chris Cocalis, founder of Pivot Cycles. Cocalis also founded BH USA with BH Europe.

Pivot recently moved into a new 27,000 square-foot facility almost four times larger than its previous location. The facility hosts a larger product development area and added CNC machines, dedicated weld stations and a bigger footprint to work on prototypes.

“While all three companies at BH North America are owned by the same entity, they are run independently by separate staffs. There will be no crossover of employees,” said Steve Lindenau, BH North America’s president.

BH North America is nine years old, and Lindenau said BH’s fitness business is many times larger than its bike business. There is no change to the company's rep forces as BH USA and Pivot will continue to share many independent reps. BH USA’s website remains the same, www.bhbikes-us.com, but contact info will change in April.
