According to Japanese media reports, the most authoritative global IT research and advisory firm Gartner consulting firm (gartner) released a 2012 Global electronics manufacturers, semiconductor accessories demand survey report on January 24. The report shows that the scale of global semiconductor sales in 2012 was $ 297.6 billion, down 13.4% year-on-year.

Japanese Sony ranked fifth ($ 7.9 billion, an increase of 1.9%) and Toshiba ranked seventh ($ 6.5 billion, down 17.1%).
Chinese Lenovo ranked sixth, with purchase of $ 7.8 billion and a slight year-on-year increase of 0.3%. Korean company LG and Cisco were in the eighth and ninth, with purchase of $ 6 billion (down 6.7%) and $ 5.4 billion (down 0.8%) respectively.
Face with disadvantaged situation in the smart phone market, Nokia’s purchase was only $ 5 billion, decreasing by 42.6%.
