Oman Cement Co has said its clinker production could drop by around 25% following the ministry of environment and climate affairs decision to shut the company s first production line, but cement production will remain uninterrupted, Muscat Daily has reported. The ministry halt operations on the first production line at the company s Rusayl plant, citing non-compliance with emission standards and violation of pollution control laws in the Sultanate. "Implementation of the decision will amount to reduced production of clinker by about 50, 000 tonnes during the period of one month which is about 25% of our nominal monthly production capacity, " the firm said.
