Abacus Lighting Has Been Chosen to Illuminate a New Airport in China

Abacus Lighting has been chosen to illuminate a new airport in China.

The Kunming New International Airport is the country's largest new airport construction project and is due to be completed in early 2012.

The airport is a replacement for the Wujajiba city airport and will have the capacity to facilitate 60 million passengers annually.

Abacus, which opened a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Shanghai earlier this year, will supply over 80 of its raising and lowering winch masts carrying a total of 550 Rhea floodlights to meet the airport's design specification of an average 25 lux.

Abacus's airport floodlighting is also used at China's Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport at Chek Lap Kok, Wuhan Tianhe International Airport, as well as Leeds Bradford Airport in the UK.

Other international projects include Kiev International Airport, Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, Jamaica's Sangster International Airport and Norman Manley International Airport.
