DPI Direct Invests in Edale FL3 Flexographic Press

US-based printing services provider DPI Direct has invested in eight-color Edale FL3 flexographic press, in a bid to enhance its production operations.

The Edale FL3 flexographic press features 430mm web width, AiiR system and converting automation pack with semi-rotary die cutting, automatic die load and unload, auto set sheer and back slitting.

AiiR (autonomous inking, impression and print registration) technology takes the support of precision camera to enhance registration accuracy, while automated print pressure control decreases wastage and set-up times.

The press can be used for the production of packaging solutions such as wine labels, light cartons and craft water labels.

Edale FL3 is a label and packaging printing press, which can be used for short run jobs across a variety of sectors.

Lable convertors can produce leeves, wrap around labels, pouches and sachets by combining the FL3’s AiiR automation with the available film packages.

The FL3 can also be combined with Graphium digital inkjet print engine for advanced hybrid flexibility.

DPI Direct labels and packaging vice president Matt Teeter said: “We were looking for as much automation as possible. Big names in the U.S. weren’t doing what Edale is.”

Edale managing director James Boughton said: “It’s been refreshing to see an MD who can communicate effectively through working knowledge and experience.”

In November, Hungary-based label producer Norma invested in nine-color Edale FL3 label and packaging printing press to produce IML, self-adhesive, multi-layer and extra-large labels.
