Fiji Has Become The New Target for The Global Clothing and Textile Industry

Fiji's Apparel Sector Plans to Advance Globally

Through the participation at the upcoming Australia International Sourcing Fair (AISF) 2012, the Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Council of Fiji is planning to make further headway in the global apparel and fashion industry.

According to TCF, the rapidly growing garment industry in Fiji has become the new target for the global clothing and textile industry. Because of its experience in all the areas of apparel manufacturing from casual wear to industrial wear, most of the clothing manufactures in Fiji are receiving enquiries from international market.

With the rising demand, TCF along with the Fiji Government is training qualified persons to handle the global requirements, the Council added.

Eight Fijian companies, namely, Danam Ltd, Jack's Garments, Mark One Apparel, PFD Fiji Ltd, Ranjit Garments, United Apparel, Intimate Apparel and Nagsun Apparel, are participating in AISF.

TCF Council of Fiji represents the textile and apparel manufacturing industries in the country and it aims to promote the continued development and prosperity of the textile and garment sector.

AISF, to be held from November 20-22, 2012, is a platform for the textile and apparel manufacturers and buyers to interact with each other as well as to build international business relations.

Besides Fiji, the other participating countries in the international fair are India, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Thailand and the US.
