Newly Revamped OTA Convention and Executive Forum Is Coming to The Ritz-Carlton

The Ontario Trucking Association’s newly revamped OTA Convention and Executive Forum is coming to the Ritz-Carlton in downtown Toronto Nov. 13-14.

The speakers and topics at the 87th edition of the convention will include:

• Tom Connellan, the “Dr. Phil of corporate performance,” on attaining superior sales performance and navigating turbulent economic times;

• WestJet founder Don Bell on corporate culture strategizing;

• Doug Robbins, president and founder of Robbinex, on bridging the generation gaps at your company; and

• Mark Thompson, CEO and co-founder of the Business Entrepreneurship Hub for Virgin United, on world-class companies that have confronted change.

The event will also feature the OTA’s Next Generation program. Brenda Allen of the Humphrey Group will deliver the second installment of the leadership development program for emerging trucking executive leaders. The agenda will also feature “personal branding guru” Dan Schawbel, who will offer his blueprint for new millennium marketing.

Next Generation participants will finish day one with an exclusive reception and offsite dinner at a local watering hole where they’ll get to meet up and network with likeminded future leaders. At the close of day two, there will be a Taste of Scotland fine scotch reception for all attendees, which will precede the evening’s awards dinner.

The event will conclude with the inaugural Casino Royale Texas Hold ‘Em poker tournament. Proceeds will go to the OTA Education Foundation.
