AMF Bakery Systems,a subsidiary of Markel Ventures,has completed the acquisition of Tromp Bakery Equipment and affiliated entities for an undisclosed amount.
Tromp Bakery Equipment is involved in the design and the manufacture of sheeting lines for pizza,pastry,pie and bread bakers globally.
Bas Tromp,the company's founder,will continue as president of Tromp Bakery Equipment.
AMF president Ken Newsome said this strategic acquisition enables the company to leverage its position as a global leader in high-speed bread and bun bakery systems and expand its offering into the growing specialty bakery sector.
AMF Bakery Systems is a leading manufacturer of industrial baking systems,specializing in pan bread and bun manufacturing equipment.It has manufacturing plants in Richmond,Virginia;Atlanta,Geogria;Sherbrooke,Canada;and Tianjin,China.
Markel Ventures is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Markel,a diverse financial holding company.
