It’s reported that Germany’s steelmaker Salzgitter announced to hike its prices for steel flat products by €30/ton, effective from September 1st, driven by higher input costs and better demand.
Salzgitter stated that it’s necessary to raise the to raise the selling prices as the higher costs of raw materials and energy have caused huge loss in recent months.
Meanwhile, the demand for steel products is recovering in Germany, driven by the automotive industry.
