Kia Motors Corporation's joint-venture in China, Dongfeng Yueda Kia, has revealed images of the Horki Concept-1 at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show.
The first car for the new Chinese market brand was designed in South Korea at its Namyang design centre, and will be built at one of three Yancheng plants from the second half of 2015.
The brand name 'Horki' combines two Chinese characters"Hor" signifying China and "Ki: signifying driving. Together, the word implies harmony and driving.
The production version of the Horki Concept-1 will be based on the same platform as the all-new Kia Cerato (Forte in some markets).
Kia and Dongfeng also said Horki will market a range of vehicles including alternative-powered cars, with further details to be announced later.
