British Fashion Brand Reiss Announced a Long-Term Franchise Agreement with Reliance Brands

British fashion brand Reiss, one of the very few fashion companies that are still founder-owned and private, has announced an exclusive long-term franchise agreement with India-based Reliance Brands Limited to launch Reiss clothing in India.

The deal is as part of Reiss’ rapid expansion plans in the global market focusing on working with practiced, like-minded partners who are in a strong position to implement the global brand strategy, but with key local knowledge and experience.

Speaking about the partnership, founder and managing director of Reiss, Mr. David Reiss said, “India is an exciting new market for the brand and one that we feel will embrace and understand the benefits of the luxury bridge experience.”

The franchise agreement with Reiss will add to the current partnership portfolio of Reliance, which includes Brooks Bros, Diesel, Ermenegildo Zegna, Hamleys, Iconix, Kenneth Cole, Paul & Shark, Quiksilver, Roxy, Steve Madden, Thomas Pink, Superdry, Dune and Timberland.

According to Mr. Darshan Mehta, president & CEO of Reliance Brands Ltd, “Reiss is a marquee brand that will sit unique in the growing repertoire of affordable luxury brands available to the Indian consumers and it is equally rich in its offering of clothing and accessories.”

Established in 1971, Reiss Brand produces menswear, womenswear and accessories. At present, Reiss has over 100 stores with presence in cities including London, New York, Los Angeles, Copenhagen and Hong Kong.

Reliance Brands Limited is part of the Reliance Industries Group. Founded in 2007, the company began operations with a mandate to launch and build international and domestic brand equity in the premium to luxury segment across apparel and lifestyle businesses.
