Bahrain plans to increase its domestic food production from 20% to 60% of total yearly food consumption by 2016.
In line with this plan, Bahrain intends to promote the role of small farmers and local business to boost the domestic food production.
This is expected to boost the country's domestic agriculture industry.
Based on Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, a plan to build sustainable development and market growth, private businesses are expected to play a crucial role in strengthening the nation's economy.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Urban Planning aim to help private fisheries, agriculture producers and poultry farms.
