Vinocopia to Introduce New Wine Barrel System, Vinocopia Barrel at WSWA

Vinocopia, a Minnesota-based company that produces wine related products, is to launch its new wine barrel system, Vinocopia Barrel, at Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America conference (WSWA) held from 28-30 April 2013 at Grande Lakes Orlando, Florida.

In contrast to other wine barrels, the Vinocopia Barrel features WineFresh packaging and connectors.

The WinFresh packaging includes replaceable and recyclable 4l plastic inserts that hold the wine within the handcrafted and reclaimed-oak barrels. This is in addition to the other components that protect wine from air, light and heat.

Each 4l WineFresh insert offers 27 5oz pours that is equal to 5.33 bottles of wine. It uses less than 40% of the material used in preparation of bottles, weighs less and uses less energy to recycle, which makes it a cost saving product.

The Vinocopia Barrel preserves the wine for over 60 days, allowing both busy restaurants and occasional drinkers use the product effectively.

Initially, Argentina wines such as Malbec, Cabernet, Merlot, Capriccio, Torrontes and Chardonnay will be offered as barrel inserts, which will be followed by other brands of wines.

Vinocopia founder Jon Malinski said bars and restaurants face a problem of serving wines faster and fresh, and with low budgets.

"The Vinocopia Wine Barrel system offers an alternative that has a minimal upfront cost, is aesthetically pleasing, features affordably-priced world-class wines, and that enhances the wine drinking experience while protecting its flavor," Malinski added.

"Our system serves wine six times faster than wine served in bottles and at the perfect temperature every time."
