Elanbach Fabrics Line Is Added by Curtains Made Simple

Fans of timeless, vintage fabrics and fresh pastels in particular will be delighted to learn that leading fabric retailer Curtains Made Simple this week introduced the latest collections from the highly regarded Elanbach fabrics to its online portal.

The extensive selection from the well-known fabric supplier includes more than 30 collections (and hundreds of different designs) from the Welsh design house which famously never consigns a design to the archives by discontinuing it.

Curtains Made Simple can produce any of the Elanbach collections in a range of made-to-measure curtains or Roman blinds and other soft textiles such as duvets, quilts and table cloths. They will also supply the fabric on its own for use by seamstresses and designers.

All of the Elanbach collections, which have been put together by a team of three popular designers - Emma Shuckburgh (nee Ashely), Tom Parr and Regine Burnell - are inspired by travel and culture. The sugared almond pastels and bright reds and blues which colour the chalky antique floral prints in Seaside fabric collection, for instance are designed to evoke the happy memories of carefree British summer holidays at the beach.

Then there is Regine Burnell’s beautiful Top Toiles collection – six designs in ten colours, inspired by traditional 19th century Chinese and French figurative design and shading but with a modern twist via the introduction of silver grey and purple.

The two most recent collections from the Elanbach stable are the 12 geometric-based African prints fabric collection in a selection of four colours, and the timeless Olivia fabric collection with a generous spanning of 1920s Art Deco designs right up to a modern 1950s feel.

A spokesman for Curtains Made Simple said: “The Elanbach designs are one of our largest collections here on the portal and one of the most distinguished too. As such, we’re pleased to be able to offer their quality fabrics to customers.

“Elanbach is a company with an impressive pedigree, having been founded by Sir Bernard Ashley, the late husband of Laura Ashley who was well-known for his passion and love of beautiful fabrics. That’s evident in these collections which certainly have a timeless vintage England feel but also a colourful vibrancy of foreign shores – particularly India and the Far East.”

Elanbach was founded in 2000 and Sir Bernard and Laura Ashley’s daughter Emma made Creative Director. Sir Bernard’s five star Edwardian hotel Llangoed Hall, near Brecon in Wales became a showcase for the company’s fabrics (they are displayed in all the public rooms and bedrooms). Only recently the company moved its production base to Lichfield Staffordshire and earlier this month (July, 2013) was officially acquired by textiles firm Dominic Morgan.

Curtains Made Simple provide textiles for a range of home accessories from pencil pleat curtains and pinch pleat curtains to Roman blinds, beanbags, duvets, table linen, napkins etc. The company promises a four week delivery of their soft textiles once ordered online. The whole range of Elanbach fabrics and collections from other leading UK and international fabric designers can be found to order today at Curtains Made Simple.
