In 2012, Coal Exports Amounted to 68.34 Million Mt, Increasing by 4.31 Percent

South Africa-based Richards Bay Coal Terminal (RBCT), one of the world's largest coal handling ports, has announced that it exported 6.83 million mt of coal in December, including 786,910 mt loaded in January on vessels that qualified for 2012 entitlement. The coal exports from the port in December increased by 5.1 percent compared to November and were down 15.5 percent year on year.

In 2012, coal exports from the terminal amounted to 68.34 million mt, increasing by 4.31 percent compared to the previous year. Stocks at the terminal stood at 2.74 million mt at the end of December.
