Foam producer FXI has created two new foams to help bedding manufacturers offer a cooler night of sleep to consumers.
The Media, Pa.-based producer is introducing Aerus and Maxperm foams, which both offer improved airflow characteristics, thus promoting cooler sleep, the company said.
"Airflow and temperature regulation have been the ‘hot' topic in the industry since the successful introduction of memory foam mattresses," said Diane Adams, FXI's chief marketing officer. "Based on the consumer research we have compiled, we know that consumers want memory foam beds for all of their traditional benefits, but are also looking for added features, particularly with regard to temperature regulation."
She said Aerus foam has more than five times more airflow capacity than conventional memory foams on the market, and said Maxperm foams feature a cell structure that is completely open, providing 15 times more airflow than other comfort related foams.
"We are one of the only companies to offer these dynamic and innovative products, and that is why our materials are some of the most popular options for bedding manufacturers, especially now that temperature regulation has come to forefront of the industry," Adams said.
Maxperm uses a controlled post- processing technique in which the cell structure is left completely open, delivering consistent airflow across the entire surface. Maxperm foams can be used in different layers of the bed to achieve greater consistency of airflow throughout the mattress, the company said.
FXI says Aerus provides five-times more airflow and dissipates heat four times faster than traditional products. Its enveloping design relieves pressure, provides premium support and offers a luxurious feel. Aerus is also highly durable, maintaining 99% of its height retention after years of use, the company said.
It is introducing Aerus and Maxperm foams in new products it is showing in its Las Vegas showroom, World Market Center C-1588.
FXI is a leading producer of foam products for the home furnishings industry and other industries.
