Cancer-Specific Gene Panels Is Launched by Genewiz

Genewiz, a contract research organization that provides genomic services, has introduced cancer-specific gene panels.

The OncoGxOne Discovery cancer panels use the new sequencing and bioinformatics technologies and detect low-frequency variations and gene fusions in both exon and intron regions.

In addition to detecting genomic aberrations including point mutations, Indels, gene fusions, the panels detect copy number variance (CNV).

Translational Genomics vice president Guanghui Hu said with the launch of cancer panels, the company is driving advancements in cancer research, offering solutions for biomarker discovery, therapeutic target discovery, and novel mutation identification.

"The resulting data has the ability to stratify patients in clinical trials, as well as make a significant impact on personalized cancer treatment," Hu added.

The company also provides DNA sequencing, gene synthesis, molecular biology, genomic, bioinformatics, and GxP/CLIA regulatory-compliant services.
