Penner International was recognized with the MTA / Shaw Tracking Distinguished Member Award for 2013 at the Manitoba Trucking Associations (MTA) annual fall awards gala on Thursday November 14, 2013.
The Distinguished Member Award is bestowed upon an MTA Member Company deemed to have made a long term commitment and noteworthy contributions to the MTA, its Associated Trades Division, Vehicle Maintenance Council or the Manitoba trucking industry through on-going dedication, active participation and support of the MTA.
MTA Executive Director Bob Dolyniuk said, “Time and time again Penner International has not just supported the MTA but has given back to their industry by providing their time, resources, and financial support”
Penner International now celebrating its 90th year in business has grown in size, scope and diversity from back in 1923 when a young 20 year old entrepreneur with a single Ford Model T Truck decided to set out on his own and start up a trucking company.
Three generations of the Penner family have served on the MTA Board of Directors and have had representation on a number of standing and ad hoc committees. Two of their presidents have been presidents of the MTA and they have had 10 members of their firm inducted into the MTA Pioneers Club over the years.
Penner International is headquartered in Steinbach, Manitoba but has locations in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.
