Motor Vehicle Sales in Turkey Rised by 8.52 Percent in Jan-Oct

According to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in the first 10 months of the current year motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 674,440 units, rising by 8.52 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, in October Turkey's motor vehicle sales saw a decline of 3.62 percent compared to the same month of 2012, totaling 60,406 units.

In the January-October period this year, Turkey's passenger car sales amounted to 499,339 units, rising by 18.03 percent year on year. In October, passenger car sales in Turkey rose by 8.16 percent year on year to 46,985 units.

In the first 10 months, Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 683,675 units, rising by 14.65 percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 394,399 units, rising by 16.81 percent, both year on year. The country exported 254,816 small trucks in the period in question, up 6.11 percent year on year. The revenue for total motor vehicle and component exports in the January-October period amounted to $17.65 billion, rising by 11.08 percent, while the revenue from passenger car exports totaled $5.67 billion, rising by 14.71 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2012.

In the first 10 months of the current year, Turkey's passenger car imports rose by 26.67 percent year on year, totaling 389,076 units. In the given period, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 465,772 units, rising by 20.27 percent year on year.
