Ted Rogan, a co-founder of Group Newsagency Supplies, has retired as chairman of the newsagency buying group, effective 24 July.
Rogan was one of a handful of newsagents who formed GNS in opposition to the then newsagency wholesaler ANCOL.
Rogan later became managing director and chairman of GNS, a position he held for more than 30 years.
"Ted oversaw the growth of GNS from its early beginnings to its current position of servicing the
industry in five states with four state offices and distribution centres," GNS deputy chairman Allan Wilbers told Stationery News.
"Ted has devoted the majority of his working life to GNS and it could easily be said that without Ted
Rogan, GNS would not be where it is today," Wilbers added.
"The board and management of GNS would like to thank Ted for all his devotion and I'm sure the entire newsagency industry wishes him good luck and a happy retirement," he said.
A new chairman is expected to be appointed at the end of this month.
