AIR Worldwide Has Opened a New Office in Singapore

Catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide has opened a new office in Singapore, in a bid to meet the increasing needs of clients in the Asian insurance market.

The newly launched office, located at One Finlayson Green, will be managed by a team consisting of Yen Chin, Ashish Jain and Apoorv Dabral.

Chin will serve as manager for business development, Jain as manager, client relations, while Dabral as senior engineer, research and modeling.

AIR Worldwide executive vice president Uday Virkud said, "The new office in Singapore ensures our ability to maintain -- and indeed enhance -- the high quality of service our clients in the region have come to expect from AIR."

"AIR has kept pace with the fast-growing markets and our equally fast-growing client base in Asia by opening offices in India (2000), China (2005), and Japan (2008)."

The firm's recent offering in the Asia-Pacific region include a cyclone model for India, bushfire model for Australia and Multiple Peril Crop Insurance Model for China.

Additional services include an update to its Basinwide Typhoon Model for the Northwest Pacific as well as earthquake models for countries throughout the continent.

Founded in 1987, the firm models the risk from natural catastrophes and terrorism in more than 90 countries.
