Australia-based Novasys Group has unveiled the new Hanatek FST, a range of film shrink testers that allow the shrink film percentage to be determined.
According to the company, the testers have been designed to measure the effect of temperature on plastic films in flexible packaging applications and the percentage determination ensures that the tester is suitable for a particular packaging application and establishes the accurate temperature for the application, ferret.com.au reported.
The testers can test cling film, blown film and shrink wrap and have accurate hotplate control, which allows film shrink tests to be performed in a short span of time.
The shrinkage is also known as linear thermal shrink or free shrink and depends on the film type, thickness and sealing temperature.
