TUCKER, GA, July 09, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Utility, Inc. has released AVaiL version 4.2.0.0, which adds Geofence Reporting and Search enhancements for Vehicles, Devices and Assets. AVaiL is the secure command-and-control software as a service that provides automatic, real-time, global view and reporting of the location and status of mobile resources.
Director of Development, Eric Bedell, reports: "In previous releases of AVaiL, users could only find an asset by finding its attached Rocket on the navigation tree, and users could not view all assets on the map at the same time. With AVaiL 4.2, users can show or hide all assets on the map, just like any other layer, and users can use the Find button to locate devices and assets. This greatly enhances the AVaiL user experience by simplifying device and asset searching." A Device is a Rocket wireless broadband router or Tracker in a vehicle. An Asset is an RFID tagged item or personnel RFID keyfob. Vehicles and Trackers can be located by entering all or part of the description or serial number. Assets and people can be located by entering all or part of their description or RFID tag MAC Address.
AVaiL 4.2.0.0 now gives the user the ability to search for some or all items within any given searchable ESRI GIS or .XML data layer, Asset, Device or District using the Find All Button when in the search field. Clicking this button when doing a search will display a list of all results. The user can then scroll the list of items, click on an item of interest, and AVaiL will jump to and center the map on the location of that item.
AVaiL 4.2.0.0 also includes the addition of assets as a showable / hideable layer on the AVaiL map. By using the Layers Button on the toolbar, the user now has the option to show all or hide all assets as a layer on the map with the click of a button.
Another new feature of AVaiL is monitoring Assets using Geofences. A Geofence is a virtual fenced area on the map providing live monitoring of people, devices, or assets entering or leaving the area. The AVaiL user chooses which devices or assets to monitor and then is automatically notified when that item crosses the Geofence boundary. When setting up a new Geofence in AVaiL, the user has the option to monitor all or specific assets entering and/or leaving that Geofence area. All Geofence alerts are logged and stored in the AVaiL DataSync database. These Geofence events can be integrated with existing legacy systems on a batch or real-time basis, and are available for historical reporting and analysis as well as real-time alerts.
"These new AVaiL capabilities allow our First Responder, Utility, Transit Agency, and Oil & Gas Services customers to operate more efficiently and effectively. They now have additional auditable field event data that supports training, productivity improvements, and geo-coded location, date, and time billing of assets and staff," reports CEO Robert McKeeman. "Field event location and time data can be automatically integrated with legacy systems and 3rd party service providers, providing much better real-time visibility into field operations to streamline business processes. This allows our customers to get more done with existing assets, which saves them money."
