Production of 2013 Chevrolet Silverado Hd, Gmc Sierra 2500 Hd Is Started by GM

General Motors has started the production of 2013 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD bi-fuel pickup trucks at its Fort Wayne, Indiana plant.

Powered by a Vortec 6.0L V8 engine, both the models are capable of running on both gasoline and compressed natural gas, switching between the two fuels without affecting performance.

Additionally, the CNG and gasoline tanks are claimed to deliver a combined range of 650 miles for the new bi-fuel trucks.

The Type 3 single tank CNG system in both the vehicles will retain more bed space compared to other bi-fuel trucks.

GM transportation delivers the bi-fuel pickups to the dealer or to an upfitter for customer-ordered modifications following the installation of CNG bi-fuel delivery and storage system by Tier One supplier IMPCO.

Both 2013 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD are expected to be available in standard, long-box and two-or-four wheel drive in the extended cab models.
