Global manufacturer of medical diagnostic systems Sekisui Diagnostics has opted technologies developed by US-based EMC for setting up a new data center infrastructure.
As part of its spinoff from Genzyme, Sekisui preferred EMC VNX solution to ensure timely response for all IT requests and provide quick business growth.
Sekisui Diagnostics, which was earlier using shared IT services from Genzyme, explored various options to build its own data center afresh, post spun off and selected EMC technologies, said EMC.
The diagnostics company also chose another technology EMC Avamar for managing a centralized backup and recovery process, in place of the earlier method of deploying backup hardware in each of its sites in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
By using VMware vSPhere of EMC, Sekisui now moved to 90% virtualized environment, which is helping it to offer new virtual machines in no time.
