With an Investment,Tubacero Began Operations at Its Fourth Plant in Mexico

With an investment of US$90 million, Mexican pipe producer Tubacero began operations at its fourth plant in Mexico, located in the Interpuerto Monterrey in Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León.

It is the only plant in the world capable of producing spiral steel pipe from rolled steel plate up to 96 inches wide and 24 meters long, which saves costs in welding applications, according to Teodoro Gonzalez, CEO Tubacero.

The new plant is also capable of producing pipes with diameters of 100 or 144 inches. The plant has employed 92 workers so far, with 450 total to be integrated once it is at full capacity. Currently the plant is at 30 percent capacity.
