Gallery of Mike Stimpson's work becomes The Old Joint Stock Theatre's most successful exhibition
An exhibition of LEGO photographer Mike Stimpson has become the most successful in the history of The Old Joint Stock Theatre.
Stimpson has programmed exhibitions for LEGOLAND California and has been commissioned by LEGO to work on events, advertising and internal promotions but his work has never been exhibited in the UK until this exhibition, which ran until the last week of December 2013.
"We've been open just over seven years and it's been our most successful exhibition yet," theatre manager Tim Hodgson told ToyNews.
"We've sold more pieces now than we ever have."
The exhibition has also brought in a younger crowd to the Theatre, with visitors eager to take home a print of Stimpson's work.
"For most exhibitions, we have 40 or 50 year olds coming, but it's been a bit younger for this," added Hodgson.
"What's been interesting is that a lot of people have been coming up specifically looking to buy something, which isn't normally the case with our exhibitions.
"We've had a few interesting and varied exhibitions but this is certainly the one which has had the most interest."
