German auto-parts maker and engineering firm Bosch is planning to suspend the production operations at its Jaipur and Bangalore plants in India on specific days of September 2012.
The company has decided to suspend the production at the two plants due to the downturn in domestic commercial vehicle segment, preventing the inventory pile up.
According to the company, the Jaipur plant will be completely closed on 8, 15, 22 and 29 September, while the Bangalore plant will be partially closed on 8, 17, 18, 22 and 29 September 2012.
Bosch said it is also undertaking this exercise to reduce production of fuel injection systems.
Bosch managing director V K Viswanathan told PTI in a statement that for the last 3-4 months, the commercial vehicle segment is not doing as good as the company had expected.
"We are suspending production for a short period of time as stocks were going up," Viswanathan said.
