Apple is seeking help to bring its Apple Pay mobile payments platform to new territories, a job posting on the company’s website has revealed.
According to the listing, identified by iClarified (via Apple Insider), the Cupertino giant has put already pulled together an Apple Pay team to work from its London office. Now it want interns to assist with the forthcoming roll outs in Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa (EMEIA).
Successful candidates will, among other things, assist with the process of bringing retailers and financial institutions on board, while also ensuring those third-parties don't go blabbing to the media.
The listing says: “Apple Pay is a new and exciting area in Apple that is set to expand across Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. Apple Pay will change the way consumers pay with breakthrough contactless payment technology and unique security features built right into their iPhone 6 or Apple Watch to pay in an easy, secure, and private way.
“The new London-based Apple Pay team will work to drive the roll-out of this technology across EMEIA by working with a variety of internal and external partners, including teams in the US where the product will first launch and the EMEIA organisation, as well as Issuers, payment networks and merchants across Europe.”
Apple Pay has been available in the United States since the launch of iOS 8.1 in October.
The platform stores the user’s credit card information and uses the NFC chip within the iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to send a one-use only code to a retailer. The iPhone owner can then confirm the purchase using the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Earlier this week the company claimed to have support credit card which accounted for 90 per cent of all transactions in the United States, though it still has plenty of work to do in order to win over retailers across the pond.
