The Delivery Volumes of These Assortments Had Been Rising Sharply

The slight reduction emerging in demand for medium assortments of oak lumber since the middle of September continued unabated in the first two weeks of October and even gathered pace in some places. The delivery volumes of these assortments had been rising sharply since the beginning of the year, however. Specialised sawmills say deliveries of trimmed oak lumber to floorboard manufacturers since mid-September have not been as extensive as they had been in the first half-year 2012 and in the months prior to the holidays. Besides sales, receipts of orders for deliveries in the coming weeks have fallen slightly as well recently. Whereas the reductions in rough products for long planks with rustic finishes have so far turned out to be rather moderate, the already slack demand from the central European parquet industry has made another turn for the worse in the last few weeks.
