Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo is planning to unveil the production version of new 4C sports car by mid-2013, prior to its earlier scheduled launch by 2012 at the Detroit Auto Show in the US.
The Italian mid-engined sports car will be powered by a 1.8litre turbocharged engine, which will generate an output of 300PS and would allow the car to reach from 0-100km/h in 5 seconds.
According to autocar.co.uk, the Italian carmaker is considering building the new model with carbon fibre to reduce its weight.
Alfa Romeos parent company, Fiat, is planning to start production of a new 1.8litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is expected to replace the 4C concept's 150kW 1.75litre engine.
