US-based materials company Styron has introduced two new resins, EMERGE PC/ABS 7700 Advanced Resins and MAGNUM Mass ABS Resins, for medical equipment housings.
According to the firm, the new EMERGE PC/ABS 7700 Advance Resins are PC/ABS blend, which provide a well-balanced, cost-effective solution for powered medical devices offering ignition resistance and color stability over time.
The firm's new MAGNUM 2642 MED and MAGNUM 8391 MED ABS Resins are Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, which are manufactured in a continuous mass production process that offers superior lot-to-lot consistency, natural resin whiteness, and easy processing characteristics.
Styron said it is also unveiling a wide range of ISO 10993-tested colorants under its CALIBRE Polycarbonate Resins, CALIBRE MEGARAD Polycarbonate Resins, and MAGNUM ABS Resins portfolio.
PCCB Plastics Americas business manager Martin Lindway said the firm is committed to providing materials, which could meet the complexity of applications from ignition to chemical resistance, durability to aesthetics.
"Our portfolio offers a broad range of materials enabling customers to select appropriate resins for specific components of applications. It allows us to provide the right solution -- in other words, materials that allow premier functionality, differentiation, system cost reduction and end-user satisfaction," Lindway added.
