Turkey's Stainless Flat Steel Imports Rose by 66.1% Year on Year and Increased by 12.63%

In December last year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports rose by 66.1 percent year on year and increased by 12.63 percent compared to the previous month to 44,427 metric tons, following the 0.48 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in November, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $95.33 million, increasing by 8.33 percent as compared to November and up 41.21 percent year on year.

In the whole of last year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 474,317 metric tons, increasing by 33.27 percent, with a value of $1.11 billion, up 20.67 percent, both year on year.

Last year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from Taiwan increased 11.37 percent year on year to 94,430 mt, with the country ranking as Turkey's top source for stainless flat steel imports. South Korea ranked second with its exports to Turkey rising by 103.15 percent year on year to 88,176 mt in the given year. Meanwhile, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from China rose by 46.95 percent and its imports from Italy increased by 71.47 percent, year on year.
