The deal was signed by start-up garments packaging supplier BoxGarment and Moss Bros, to supply the corrugated packaging for a new transactional website.
BoxGarment’s patent pending packaging for Moss Bros will be manufactured by DS Smith Packaging, and is designed to deliver clothes to the shopper in ready-to-wear condition in a branded box that requires no tape or fixings.
“Home delivery is the last point at which a retailer can influence a shopper with packaging, and until now it’s been a wasted opportunity to promote the brand,” said Stephen Brady, who founded BoxGarment in 2012.
“Too many items are delivered in plain plastic packaging, which doesn’t look good, isn’t sustainable and doesn’t protect the clothes themselves.
“DS Smith Packaging stood out because of its size, heritage and commitment to customer service, as well as its understanding of the particular demands of the e-retail and home delivery market.”
BoxGarment’s packaging for Moss Bros was designed using DS Smith Packaging’s ‘Pack Right’ software tools, with the sizing tailored for parcel lockers, parcel shops and local delivery points.
The design also enables consumers to re-use the box to return the goods.
