X-Rite’s eXact family of handheld spectrophotometers is now supporting new ISO standard for Spot Color Tone Value (SCTV).
eXact allows printers and packaging converters to understand, control, manage, and communicate color through all facets of production, preventing unwanted reprint and rework.
With the help of eXact SCTV configuration, commercial and package printers can verify tone value for spot colors that connect well with visual appearance.
The new firmware update to the eXact family allows printers to more easily verify spot and process colors that brands mention using the latest ISO 20654 standard.
Users can separately configure the tone value formula for spot colors and CMYK. XRite said configurations are available for Tone Value, Tone Value Increase (TVI) or dot gain, TVI Table and Print Characteristics.
A new search function in eXact offers rapid access to color standards like Pantone. X-Rite also made additional updates to further enhance the user experience.
X-Rite printing and imaging product portfolio manager Ray Cheydleur said: “X-Rite now provides SCTV support across our eXact family, IntelliTrax2 and ColorCert Suite 3.0 process control software, providing customers with the color management and workflow tools required to meet evolving industry standards, better formulate inks and take into account the effect of substrates on color.
“With X-Rite solutions, customers can feel confident they have the most accurate and consistent color measurement instruments on the market.”
X-Rite said it will demonstrate the eXact family at The Color Conference, January 13-16 in San Diego and at EFI Connect 2018, January 23- 25 in Las Vegas.
With a portfolio of products, the eXact family integrates with various X-Rite solutions for color consistency.
The deployment of X-Rite eXact spectrophotometers allows print and packaging operations to lower makeready times, enhance quality, and decrease substrate and ink waste.
