Honda Australia has launched the upgraded 2012 Honda Insight hybrid in the country.
The new hybrid is offered in two variants including VTi and VTi-L which will be powered by 1.3litre i VTEC petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission.
Honda has further improved its fuel efficency compared to its earlier version to 4.3 l/100km from its earlier 4.6L/100km on the combined cycle.
According to the carmaker, upgrades to the engine and transmission, enhanced aerodynamics, new electric fuel pump and new tyres were responsible for 6.5% increase in its fuel economy and 5.5% reduction in CO2 emissions to 103g/km.
Other features of the new hybrid include a new illuminated grille, LED daytime running lights, improved front bumper and enhanced tail-lights.
The hybrid's VTi variant will be on sale in Australia at a price of $29,990 and VTi-L variant at $33,490.
